His XP requirement ratio is 1x, equivalent to base heroes and Etienne's leveling speed. Geraldo upgrades automatically after being placed. His upgrades can also be immediately bought with cash, though the amount of cash required to purchase the next upgrade will typically increase as the upgrades get higher, making self-upgrading an important element for his overall power. He earns more XP each round to unlock his next upgrade irrespective of how many bloons he pops. Geraldo will start upgrading himself every round upon placement. 3.11 Bottle of 'Gerry's Fire' Hot Sauce.Geraldo can be unlocked with a one-off purchase of 5000. If Hero Favors is enabled, Geraldo will cost $545 on Easy, $640 on Medium, $690 on Hard, and $770 on Impoppable. Geraldo costs $595 on Easy, $700 on Medium, $755 on Hard, and $840 on Impoppable. He also has 40 range, but items can be applied anywhere on the player's side of the map. As an energy attack, it cannot pop Leads or Purples. Geraldo also fires a lightning attack every 1.1 seconds that deals 1 damage to up to 5 Bloons at Level 1. Only a small number of each item may be purchased in one round, but these items will slowly restock. New items unlock with most levels and are purchasable with in-game cash. He is a Mystic Shopkeeper who carries a wide array of support items in his shop, including road items, single-use abilities, tower boosts, and more. Geraldo is a hero in Bloons TD 6, released in update 31.0. Geraldo the shopkeeper sells a selection of useful items and zaps Bloons with his lightning attack. We then connect the “Geometry” output of the Object Info node to the “Instance” input on the Instance on Points node: This will generate a new “Object Info” node, like this: Next, we can click on our sprinkle in the Outline view at the top right, then click and drag it onto the Geometry Nodes view at the bottom. We now need to add a new geometry node, “Instance on Points” to our Icing’s Geometry Node setup: Setting the vertex count for the sprinkle to “8” should be OK, as here: Because there will be dozens or hundreds of sprinkles scattered over the icing, we don’t want or need excessive detail (which will slow down renders and also slow down editing in the viewport). We need to scale down the sprinkle and reduce its level of detail. You might have to zoom out to see it: the default size is way too big! From the viewport, we hit “Shift + A” then go to “Mesh -> Cylinder” to add a new cylinder to the scene. Now we take a break from Geometry Nodes to create a model for the sprinkles we want to distribute over the surface of the icing. We need to add a “Join Geometry” node to combine our points with the original icing mesh, like this:įor the time being, we also set the density of our points to “0”, which will hide the giant “blobs” that Blender is currently rendering in the viewport: This is because we have replaced our icing mesh with the output from “Distribute Points on Faces”. The icing also appears to have “disappeared”. We need to toggle the density to adjust this, which we will do later. You can see there’s a single enormous “point” sticking to the icing. Hit “Shift + A” to add a new node, then start searching using the search bar that opens: We now need to add a “Distribute Points On Faces” node. I now delete the Geometry Nodes I created for the Donut, and switch to the Icing instead: We don’t want to alter the donut, but rather the icing (we are adding sprinkles). For instance, if we add a “set position” node and add a Z offset, the donut now moves (the output mesh position has been changed): The node on the right is the final mesh, after any changes made by our geometry nodes. The node on the left (Group Input) reads in the existing data for our mesh (for the donut, in this case). Note that if your nodes disappear, you can get them back by clicking on the “Geometry Nodes” modifier in the right-hand pane: Now, we click on “New” to create a new geometry node setup: We won’t be needing the window in the upper left that shows the positions of all our vertices, so we can close that: Click on that, and choose “General -> Geometry Nodes”. If you don’t see this, look for a little down arrow near the top right corner of the top menu bar. We’ll create a new Workspace (tab) at the top of blender, which will allow us to see our geometry node setup alongside our donut: This enables all sorts of cool stuff, from the ability to dynamically generate frost or icicles on a surface, to the ability to create buildings whose height, window position, and number of floors are all procedurally controlled. Much like the nodes we’ve used so far to create texture, geometry nodes allow use to procedurally generate changes to the mesh (changes to our objects). In previous versions of the donut tutorial, “particles” were used, but “geometry nodes” are a better option in Blender 3.x. Next, we want to add some sprinkles to the donut. This file is the result of my work after following along with the steps in the YouTube video. You can download the associated “.blend” file here. You can download a PDF copy of this post here.Notes below correspond to this YouTube video.I’ll be making additional notes for each of the videos in the series! Just some notes I made while following along with this now-famous blender donut tutorial. I also know the difference between the persona of the rapper JAY-Z and Shawn Carter the entrepreneur and, perhaps, aesthete. I know that JAY-Z is an art collector, and his in-ness with art world types has been well-documented (see “Picasso Baby”). The enshrinement of an image, especially something as ubiquitous as the Mona Lisa, can be dangerous, as it strips the work of art of its multivalent interpretations and only uses it as a sign that essentially reads: status. Another uneasy response was immediately thinking of those memes of Puff Daddy standing in front of the Mona Lisa, etc. Art was being used to signify status with no meaning outside of cultural capital and luxury. It's not the responsibility of the artists featured nor the director to give each painting its proper due, but I did feel like the art was only being used as a backdrop in this case. Now, obviously JAY-Z and Beyoncé looking at art at the museum would be a really boring music video (though I would love to be a fly on the wall to overhear their conversation about the Mona Lisa). Art is not merely a photo-op, and posing in front of art is reducing it to a backdrop. People photograph everything, look but don't see, understanding very little of context. My second thought, and I'm not proud of this, was, ruefully "cool, more museum selfies." One of my pet peeves is, in spite of how many visitors there are in museums, how little time people actually spend looking at the art. I'm less sure about this current project. The relationship between Julie Dash and Arthur Jafa's Daughters of the Dust and Beyoncé's Lemonade was, to my mind, a brilliant way to incorporate art in a music video, elevating the music and, in some ways, highlighting the artistic inspiration. The video itself is gorgeously shot, and does show a continued interest in art on behalf of the artists, JAY-Z and Beyoncé, to engage with art (notable precursors being JAY-Z's "Picasso Baby," and Beyoncé's use of David Hammons and Richard Prince in “7/11”). My first reaction, was being thrilled that art was being featured in a music video at all. First of all, what were your initial reactions to the “APESHIT” video? After this, the game proceeds according to plan. The game is started differently than every other turn because the player who did not deal can choose to take a card from the stock or the face up card. This is very simple, the dealer sends cards to the other player and himself/herself on at a time until both players have a hand of ten cards. Playing gin rummy starts with the shuffle and the deal. There is a stock – this is the pile of cards that are face down, and a waste – this is the area in which cards that have been played are discarded. Furthermore, when a player goes gin, the opposing player is not allowed to lay off any cards. There will be more on this later, but sufficed to say, when a player is knocking, this means they have combinations necessary to end the game with little deadwood. Winning the game can be done by a process called knocking. They are not allowed to be used for double combinations such as games like bridge. Cards can only be used in one combination at a time. A run is when a player places down three or more cards in the same suit in sequential order, such as a 7, 8, and 9 of hearts.Ī set or group of cards is when a player has three of the same cards, so think of three kings. If there are few cards remaining in a hand and nothing left to be played, then it is more than likely a player will win. Getting rid of cards is the way to win the game. When it is a player’s turn, the goal is to go on a run or a sequence. A win is when a player crosses the 100 point threshold. This game is quite simple from a scoring perspective, so understanding how to make different plays is critical to getting those gin rummy wins. The lower the number of the remaining cards, the easier it is to be the winner. The goal of the game is to get most of the cards into what are called sets and runs doing so results in maximum points, and the goal is to have the point value of the remaining cards be low. This is why the game is fun – there is not too much pressure and the two-person dynamic add to the enjoyment.Īt the beginning of the game, each player is dealt ten cards. Yes, there are games that are played with three to four players, and those games do have rule adaptations, but the gin rummy being talked about for the purposes of this strategy guide is a two-player game. The first thing to know about gin rummy is that the game is played by two players. The first step to playing gin rummy is to learn the different rules of the game. As you play more games, you will acquire more skill and in turn the game will become more enjoyable. This guide will take you through the terminology of gin rummy, along with the different strategies for success. The bottom line is gin rummy is a perfect way to play a fun game with friends. Furthermore, there are plenty of scenes in movies where gin rummy is played, along with organized games in various places. The game has been played for ages and has roots in the Old World. This game is the perfect change of pace and allows people to bond over a shared game and enjoy friendly competition. Playing gin rummy is the perfect pastime for folks who are looking to spend an afternoon with a friend or relative without having much craziness. Many players find the game is easy to learn, the scoring is simple, and winning the game does not take much work unlike games of solitaire, gin rummy is a solvable game, which is why it has been a favorite for generations. For folks who like simple card games that they can play with their friends and neighbors, gin rummy more than fits the bill. This game has a very long history and is very easy to play. Gin rummy is one of the world’s most popular card games – and for good reason. Pressure washers can be safe for cars when used with wider nozzles and lower pressures. Gas: Electric models are lighter and quieter, while gas-powered pressure washers usually offer more power and mobility. Wheels are a must four work fine but a two-wheeled, tilting power washer is even easier to push around the driveway.Įlectric vs. Portability: Make sure the pressure washer you use for car washing is easy to move. Check instruction manuals on which kind of soaps or detergents you can put in your pressure washer's soap tanks. The best option is to buy a foam cannon and apply the soap through that. Soap system: While built-in tanks are often designed for "soap," we don't recommend putting car wash soap in the reservoir because it can gum up the nozzle. Hose length: A longer hose gives you more reach and flexibility, so you won't need to move the unit around as much. Wider angles are better for delicate surfaces, while narrower ones pinpoint the stream to tackle tougher jobs. Nozzle options: Make sure you have different spray patterns and angles. Water flow (gpm): A gallon per minute (gpm) of 1.2 to 2.5 is enough for most home and automotive tasks. These high water pressures can cause serious damage to skin and limb, so please use caution. It's also important to keep your fingers and toes away from the water stream at all times. Anything more powerful than that is for things like stripping paint and graffiti removal. That should also be more than enough pressure to use with foam cannons and spray nozzles designed specifically for cars.įor bigger jobs like washing a driveway or cleaning your home's siding, you'll want between 25 psi. That's strong enough to clean cars and trucks well without damaging their surfaces. Power output (psi): For cleaning your car, look for something between 12 psi. Below are the key elements you'll want to consider: The readings and notes on all of these parameters helped us decide on the best pressure washers.Īside from purpose and overall usability, you'll want to keep a few key specifications and features in mind when shopping for a pressure washer. And finally, we tested the assembly and ease of storage. We also listed all of the tips and spray patterns included with each pressure washer.īecause portability is quite important when using a pressure washer, we noted which ones were easy or difficult to move around. Taking note of the power source was easy, as they're either 120 volts, a 20-volt battery, or gas-powered. We weighed each pressure washer on one of our scales, with hoses and attachments included. We then subtracted this static water flow rate reading from the 'powered on' reading. For our water flow rate reading, we took note of the rate prior to using the pressure washer itself-to account for leaks. Because of this, our testing parameters included data points that are useful for a wide range of power-washing jobs.įor our objective numbers-driven parameters (who doesn't love those?), we tested maximum water pressure with a psi gauge, water flow rate with a water flow meter, and noise level with a decibel meter. While the vast majority of our testing consists of strictly automotive products, we know that pressure washers can do far more. To help you choose which pressure washer is right for washing your car, we put nine of them through some serious Gear Team testing. For car, boat, and RV cleaning, a smaller, less powerful-and less expensive-pressure washer is plenty of tool for the job. Tough household tasks, like stripping the varnish off a deck, will require a more powerful pressure washer than those listed here, and you wouldn't want to use one of those on your vehicle, anyway. A good rule of thumb is to decide which jobs you want your pressure washer to accomplish before buying one. However, there are a few things to keep in mind before you go power-washing your ride. It's a nice tool to have anyway, with plenty of satisfying cleaning options around the house. There are multiple ways to clean your car, but one of the fastest and most efficient options is bringing out the old pressure washer. With apologies to the Masters, washing your own vehicle is also a tradition unlike any other. Have you ever found yourself thinking that the neat trait doesn’t explain exactly who your Sim really is? The cables are crimped to the pins and then the pins inserted into the connectors. The connectors are only one part of the equation. If you do wish to make your own RGB LED Strip extension, the other end will be a Molex 70107-0002 3 circuit male pin housing connector. This is the same connector that is used by the RGB LED Strips (except pin 1 is connected for this). Pin 1 (where the arrow is on the connector this is +5V power) is not connected on either side. For this cable, only 2 of the 3 connectors are filled. The connector for the cable between the Lighting Node Pro/Commander Pro RGB ports and the RGB Fan Hub uses Molex 50-57-9403 female socket connector on both ends. These will connect to a Molex 70107-0003 4 circuit male pin housing connector and available for 0.57/ea. This is available from DigiKey for $0.27/each. The Corsair RGB Fans use a Molex 50-57-9404 4 circuit female socket connector. That's less than 4 in.! Those cables are so short that it's laughable. I've looked and extension cables can be bought at ModDIY. But while the RGB strips come with extension and connector cables, the RGB fans do not. Sometimes just an extra 30cm or so would be more than enough. This is especially challenging in a large case (such as mine) and exacerbated by a desire for some manner of cable management - which means that cables cannot take the shortest, straightest path between point A and point B.Įxtensions could help with this. Applications often require rugged terminals and lower mating force to reduce operator fatigue during assembly and/or to withstand high-mating cycles. One challenge that I've had with my RGB fans is placement of the RGB Fan Hubs. The pre-lubricated version can be mated up to 250 times and fit into standard Micro-Fit 3.0 Housings. Micro-Fit 3.0 RMF (Reduced Mating Force) Terminals are designed for applications needing lower engagement and disengagement forces or when the units are cycled frequently. For lower applied costs, OEMs often prefer a compliant pin connector over one that requires soldering. The Micro-Fit 3.0 CPI Header mates with Micro-Fit 3.0 Receptacle, allowing running changes as boards transition from solder to press-fit applications. The robust eye-of-the-needle design provides a reliable interface when recommended board layouts are followed. Micro-Fit 3.0 CPI (Compliant Pin) Connectors provide a compliant pin interface while maintaining all the features of the standard Micro-Fit 3.0 Connector. The TPA reduces terminal back-out by providing locking redundancy assemblers cannot insert the TPA unless terminal is properly inserted. The Micro-Fit TPA Connector Family helps prevent failure in end products by offering terminal position assurance (TPA). Doing so can cause damage to the connector and/or terminal and consume valuable labor time. In hard-to-reach applications, such as drawers or fan assembly trays, connectors need to be mated and unmated without being seen. They allow mating misalignment (per product drawing). Micro-Fit 3.0 Blind-Mate Interface (BMI) Connectors are designed for blind-mating applications. OEMs often need power connectors in space-constrained applications. The Micro-Fit Connector Family offers up to 8.5A with a 3.00mm pitch, delivering power in a compact package in wire-to-wire and wire-to-board configurations.
